Job Description

We're seeking a versatile and highly motivated Chief Enterprise Architect to join our newly formed Shared Services and Architecture group! This group will act as a catalyst, strategizing and delivering for our three-growth business in a unified manner. In this new role, you will be part of a team identifying and implementing key shared services and capabilities to enhance Visa's technology platforms and enable faster, outstanding innovation and reduced duplication. The role will be a key leader in identifying and applying industry trends in technology, tools, and processes.

A successful candidate for this role will have a deep knowledge of Software Development, development methodology, delivery, and tools. More importantly, a successful candidate will be able to define & communicate business goals and design using clear architectural models and the help of domain architects.

Essential Functions

  • Co-ordinate team's architectural activities with the other peer architecture teams

  • Oversee and identify appropriate solutions and designs that will best prepare the company to meet future business objectives.

  • Create, review, and approve designs in the form of a "Technical Architecture recommendation" document which will be used as the basis for decision making.

  • Provide strategic leadership, collaborate co-ordination, and creative problem solving necessary to manage and advance new and existing opportunities across the business.

  • Conduct technical evaluations to adopt new technologies to evolve existing technology stack.

  • Perform "build versus buy" analyses as needed when suggesting new solutions.

  • Facilitate in the definition of the system, technical, application and deployment architectures for major areas of development and recommend course of action to maintain cost effectiveness.

  • Research and implement best practices frameworks/capability models that will control costs, provide higher quality, and/or increase reliability.

  • Research and stay abreast of the latest technologies and processes in the payment industry.

  • Apply architecture best practices that helps increase execution velocity.

  • Collaborate with other architecture teams and leaders of various Visa technology organizations.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership through presentations and act as a role model for One Visa principle.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
* 12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 9 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
* 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
* 15+ years of experience in leading and successfully delivering technology architecture and/or product development initiatives.
* Expertise in building service-oriented architectures and platforms (Authentication, API GWs, Message processing, Database)
* Expert understanding of architecture patterns and operational characteristics of highly secure, available, and scalable applications.
* Experience working with a variety of Application Servers and Databases such as Tomcat and Oracle.
* Experience in Micro Services, Service Mesh, and Containers
* Consistent track record in integrating acquired entities, with experience in helping Buy/Build debate.
* Ability to influence and drive technical leadership on large/complex programs that span multiple BUs.
* Ability to operationalize Technical Best practices to Visa's environment.
* Recognized as an SME for your architecture and platform expertise, and regularly sought out for overall enterprise strategy definitions.
* Continuous learning mindset through ongoing formal education and/or industry engagements.
* Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex organization where the ability to discover and internalize diverse stakeholder goals is critical to brokering solutions that are in the best interest of the company.
* Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and interaction skills, including ability to effectively communicate architectural issues and concepts to multiple organization levels and executive management through presentations and diagrams.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 173,100.00 to 250,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
