Intern, Production Exploration Program (PEP)

What Rockwell Needs from You

We need a diverse workforce to do our best work. We need the makers, the forward thinkers, the problem solvers, and everything in between. That is where you come in. We have an immediate hiring need for our Production Exploration Program (PEP) for high school students seeking to learn more about manufacturing careers during a 10-week internship. This is a first shift role from 6:30am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday, beginning June 10th.

JOB SUMMARY:

Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines used in the production of the company's products. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by the supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operations against predetermined tolerances.

RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

May perform one or more of the following:

  • Works with Surface Mount Technologies and other machining processes
  • Set up and operate multiple machines and workstations at once - Works with components and full PC board layouts for final product creation
  • Creates and applies labels onto PCBs (manually and/or automated)
  • Burns firmware programs into electronic components using programming machines
  • Prepares reels and feeders for use on surface mount technology (SMT) machines; counts materials and moves to production line
  • Sets up and operates optical inspection machine and performs visual classification and repair of rejected boards
  • Follows established procedures on routine work and standard operating procedures
  • Frequently interacts with peers and customers (typically internal) to exchange or present factual information
  • Operates plated through-hole (PTH) machine to install axial, radial and DIP electronic components onto PCBs
  • Build and test modules for finished goods delivered to customers
  • Execute scrap process after quality disposition
  • Perform other duties as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrolled in MAGNET's Early College Early Career Program
  • Pursuing a high school diploma
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Involved in STEM-related classes or extracurricular activities
  • Basic Computer Literacy
  • Basic Reading and Writing
