THE ROLE

Responsible for leading business systems and application projects from initiation through delivery. This role will provide robust technical project management to ensure the projects are planned, implemented, monitored and delivered in the agreed timeframe meeting quality and cost parameters. Work at this level involves all aspects of direct project management for major information technology projects of a complex nature with multiple dependencies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Plan and direct all aspects of technology projects including planning, scheduling, resourcing, risk assessment, cost/benefit analyses, change management, establishing milestones and overall costs.
  • Maintains a master status list of all enterprise projects and provides analysis to as part of Project Portfolio Reporting.
  • Utilizes and develop established project management standards and procedures.
  • Conducts project kickoff meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations.
  • Creates and maintains the project plan ensuring PM methodology is adhered to. Continually updates project plans and schedules.
  • Develops work breakdown structures based on the project objectives and scope. Identify and manage project dependencies.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, ensure that any change to project scope is documented and approved.
  • Monitors the project by identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating scope, budget, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
  • Ensures that project expectations, status, issues and successes are communicated timely to sponsors, stakeholders, and all levels of management and documented appropriately.
  • Resolves issues proactively to reduce/eliminate impact on overall project. Facilitate resolution of enterprise multi-project resource and integration conflicts.
  • Ensures that all project documentation is created and stored for future reference and audit purposes
  • Conducts formal review at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

  • Five years of related project management experience.
  • Six Sigma and/or PMI training preferred.
  • Strong competencies in project planning, budget and time management, scope management, risk management, and change management.
  • Thorough knowledge of system development lifecycle used for the development of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems.
  • Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools. Extensive experience with using relevant project management software.
  • Knowledge of ERP/CRM systems; with past experience of managed projects as Project Manager.
  • Technical and professional principles, practices, laws, applications and programs.
  • Advanced expertise in managing business systems and project management strategies.
  • Current developments and trends in system design and technical project management.
  • Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
