What you will be doing

Under the direction of the 340B Enterprise Strategy & Center of Excellence, this role is responsible for the execution of AmerisourceBergen's 340B strategy. The Senior Director - 340B Contract Pharmacy Relations partners with commercial business and operational leaders to operationalize 340B processes optimally with the ultimate aim of delivering a best-in-class 340B customer experience and meeting commercial objectives. The Senior Director - 340B Contract Pharmacy Relations will constantly seek ways to improve processes and generate operational efficiencies. They will also conceptualize and execute any one-time initiatives necessary to further the 340B strategy. The role will lead a team of managers, analysts/project managers and collaborate closely with other cross-functional teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with leadership to determine, prioritize, and execute 340B strategy across the enterprise.
  • Works directly with internal and external teams that collaborate with the 340B segment to:
    • Provides insights, dashboards, and monitoring tools to support proactive customer service.
    • Monitors industry developments and the impact to the enterprise through peer-to-peer forums, participation in external meetings, and relationship management with key 340B stakeholders.
    • Develops strategy with experience research team to identify customer drivers and sentiment to create world-class customer experience.
    • Proactively identifies improvement opportunities including process gaps, tools, or resource management that ultimately allow the teams to operate effectively.
    • Identifies and recommends innovative solutions that will enhance Cencora's 340B offering and work towards driving their development and launch through community retail and long-term care, corporate partnerships and health-systems and government services.
    • Develops talking point guides and communications to support knowledge transfer on key 340B topics of interest that impact the enterprise.
  • Develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) and program governance documentation in support of program reliability standards.
  • Supports and oversees one-time, 340B strategic initiatives including:
    • Building the project plan and standing up a project team
    • Building a business case and related materials to secure internal funding
    • Working with the project team to execute the project
    • Monitoring project progress, budget etc. and ensuring its successful completion
    • Manage relationships with external parties, e.g., APEXUS, TPAs
    • In conjunction with Analytics team, monitor key metrics and KPIs as they relate to financial health of the 340B segment, actual vs goals, operations of underlying teams, opportunity, leakage, customer feedback
    • Collaborate with Sales, Account Managers and other customer-facing teams on specific customer opportunities including new business development, selling a 340B specific solution to an existing account etc.
    • Drive 340B Communications including informing teams of latest regulatory reforms and what it means for their day to day operations
    • Facilitate communications across 340B teams on a regular cadence which includes providing periodic updates on the health of the segment etc.
    • May be required to complete and receive a passing score on defined certification course(s) as determined by the VP of 340B Enterprise Strategy & CoE
    • Performs related duties as assigned

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires specific training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, operations, or similar vocations generally obtained through an advanced degree, usually resulting in a master's degree or equivalent professional experience. Requires eight (8)+ years progressively responsible related experience, including 340B experience, knowledge of 340B compliance and regulations, different players within the 340B landscape, current challenges etc. This individual must have demonstrated ability to effectively manage enterprise level change and improvement initiatives. Must have the ability to lead and motivate others across Cencora to achieve strategic growth goals.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Has significant operational leadership experience with an emphasis on customer experience and account management, preferably in the Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Demonstrates experience operating in a large enterprise (>30,000 employees)

  • Demonstrates an ability to successfully manage large teams across the organization and execute initiatives that require a high degree cross functional and cross team collaboration

  • Has Completed 340B University or 340B University on Demand

  • Has Completed Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certificate Program (340B ACE)

  • Understands Pharmacy trends and operations

  • Has experience in data analytics and reporting (preferred) with proficiency in PowerBI

  • Demonstrates excellent negotiation skills

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Has excellent integration, implementation and management skills

  • Has excellent interpersonal skills

  • Has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce to operate effectively with company systems and programs
