Job Description

The individual in this role will lead a dynamic team that is responsible for the end-to-end interconnection review and study processes in support of customer requested interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), which includes renewable energy generation and storage systems up to 5 MWs for PSE's Net Metering and Distributed generation programs, and select transmission generation projects up to 80 MWs. They will Ensure consistent application of PSE processes and standards for the safe and efficient interconnection of resources; and will be responsible for delivering on an excellent customer experience by removing obstacles, coaching employees, and working closely with project developers and other PSE departments to resolve issues.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

    • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed.

    • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews and development plans.
    • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business, customer, and safety results.
  • Leads and leverages a team to develop and/or improve the tools and processes required to study and ensure the safe and effective interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).
  • Works with internal stakeholders to identify and regularly update interconnection requirements.
  • Works with project developers to secure interconnection agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Delivers exceptional customer experience by overseeing business processes and interacts directly with customers, project developers, and internal stakeholders to problem solve and resolve complex service issues.
  • Responds to and completes data requests to satisfy internal and/or external compliance requirements.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of interconnection regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Understands interconnection requirements, processes, and tariff rules.
  • Stays informed about emerging industry trends and advancements to enhance the efficiency of interconnection processes.
  • Communicates project updates and milestones to internal teams and external partners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years relevant job experience.
  • Two (2) years demonstrated leadership skills in leading people or projects.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills given the multidisciplinary nature of the work.
  • Ability to distill complex solutions and ideas into concise media for audiences in all levels of the company.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in an environment where priorities and context change rapidly.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proven experience in managing interconnection processes for solar, battery or other renewable energy projects.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, grid integration, and relevant regulations and codes.
  • Knowledge of distributed energy resources and project design.

The pay range for this position is$80,800.00-$195,400.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
