Position Overview

The global Stanley FP&A team is looking for a Product Cost Analyst to join our organization and optimize our product costs, margin, and profitability. You will analyze the costs of our products and provide insights and recommendations for efficiency and competitive advantage.

Working closely with multiple cross-functional departments including Product Creation, Procurement/Sourcing and Finance teams, your analysis will be essential to product inception through sell in.

You will work with and influence a wide variety of business partners across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Create methodology and process for "Should be" guidance on cost and feature parameters.
  • Develop and maintain cost planning gates as it relates to the Go-To-Market calendar.
  • Build accurate product lifecycle margin plans, ensuring alignment with the Company strategy and financial plans to support and drive informed decision making.
  • Analyze cost components of styles in development, making recommendations to meet both margin goals and retail price targets.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of cost drivers including product design, materials, processes, and methods on product cost.
  • Recommend actions for improvement and optimization for domestic and international design and engineering teams.

Who You Are

  • Planner. Estimate product costs for product lifecycle to enable cost-optimization projects, from implementation to completion.
  • Accurate. Ensure accuracy and completeness of Product data, including detailed costing records. Track cancelled projects and liability.
  • Owner. Owner and driver of Tooling budget vs. actual with product creation, sourcing, and corporate finance.
  • Reporter. Variance analysis and reporting for planned landed product cost and margin vs. actual, as well as end to end cost.
  • Analyst. Analyze data on product costs, materials, labor, overheads, and variances in partnership with the Cost Accounting team.
  • Researcher. Research and implement best practices and industry standards for cost analysis, including developing & maintaining standard operating procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, supply chain, accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability in cost analysis, consumer products preferred.
  • Excel power user. Experience building sophisticated, driver-based financial models and complex reports with data extraction and visualization tools including Power BI
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and PLM systems, Oracle and Centric preferred
  • Experience working with large amount of data and tying back to team and company goals.
  • Strong communication; verbal and written, and with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to influence cross functional teams and individual stakeholders.

Salary Range

$90k - 130k annually.

The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
