Reports to: Production Supervisor, 3rd Shift
Location: Kent, WA
Type: Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule: *100% Onsite: Thursday - Friday night shift (10:00 P.M to 6:30 A.M.)

Role Overview

The Production Supervisor is a critical role for first line leadership of production areas within the facility on 3rd shift. The position will play a key role in partnering with the Value Stream Managers (VSMs) to ensure on-time and quality delivery to our customers. They will coordinate job scheduling and ensure the necessary resources to accomplish jobs daily. Providing leadership, support, coaching, and counseling for employee's day to day tasks, skill development, cross-training, continuous improvement, and standardized work, is an essential function of the position. They will direct the workforce in a way that always promotes employee safety and productivity improvements.

Salary Range for position: $63,000 to $85,000 per year *placement within this range will be based upon previous experience.

Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise employees on 3rd shift in support of the VSMs.
  • Ensure that proper resources are available to meet job scheduling and customer demand, including cross-training development, department staffing structure and training plans as necessary to support achieving production output targets.
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained in the company and department rules, policies, and safety issues, including, but not limited to, attendance, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct performance reviews, skill assessments, and performance planning for each employee that reports directly to you.
  • Crossover communication with all managers including VSMs, department Leads and Coordinators to ensure department cohesiveness and consistency around the clock.
  • Report and document all WISHA accidents and lead/support investigation for corrective actions and future prevention.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities as necessary to serve the needs of our customers, both internal and external.
  • Responsible for ensuring production employees receive communication and support during all phases of their career.
  • Working closely with HR to support recruiting, onboarding, career development and training, and end of employment processes.
  • Fully support our Quality Management System and participate as required in OEM/Customer audits. Provide leadership for root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) investigations to safety, quality, and policy related issues utilizing Real Time Problem Resolution (RTPR). Promote Quality Assurance's efforts by ensuring timely reporting to them of questions regarding job processing specifications as well as problems with parts/jobs.
  • Provide first response support to facility/staff emergence's as necessary.
  • Support the VP of Operations with special projects and workflow productivity process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • ERP and/or MRP experience highly preferred, specifically Infor Syteline.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High degree of integrity with the ability to work with confidential employee information discreetly and appropriately with solid documentation.
  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Read/Write/Communicate in English.
  • Must be able authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or general equivalency and 3+ year's relevant experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or finishing.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role, responsible for a team of 10+ direct reports.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand aerospace engineering documents (drawings, specifications, etc.).

Essential Mental/Physical Demands
Standing/walking for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment. Extensive use of hands in writing, computer, and other office equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Safety glasses required in certain processing areas.
