We are looking for a Development Manager within Business Development focusing on the RFP process for Federal/State/Local opportunities.

  • Typical duties and responsibilities include supporting Development Director(s) to manage and maintain a strategic business development agenda and operational leads in pursuing new business opportunities, plus managing the proposal development process and sales and marketing support.

Purpose

  • In a professional, multidisciplinary environment, the Development Manager will manage, coordinate, and support business development activities to ensure that objectives and deliverables are accomplished.
  • This role requires someone that thrives under pressure and enjoys working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Typical duties and responsibilities include supporting Development Director(s) to manage and maintain a strategic business development agenda and operational leads in pursuing new business opportunities, plus managing the proposal development process and sales and marketing support.
  • This position can be either State and/or Federal focused.

Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports Development Director(s) in managing and maintaining a strategic business development agenda
    • Solicits feedback and input regarding business development topics and opportunities from staff
    • Conducts review and analysis of potential topics and opportunities, as needed
    • Provides status reports and updates to demonstrate alignment with organizational and Growth goals
  • Supports operational leads in pursuing business opportunities
    • Evaluates and screens new business opportunities
    • Researches and analyzes products, services, markets, and customers
    • Participates in business planning and budgeting; manages established plans and budgets
    • Supports partnerships and collaborations
    • Supports Development Director with negotiation prep-work as needed
    • Supports concept and proposal development as needed
    • Supports proposal planning activities
  • Manages proposal development process
    • Prospecting/environmental scanning for opportunities
    • Assessment and summarization of opportunities
    • Template/shell development
    • Coordinates with operations staff to develop content
    • Reviews and summarizes scientific literature
    • Proposal timeline development and management
    • Proposal team facilitation
    • Proposal writing and editing
    • Proposal review facilitation
    • Proposal production, packaging, and submission
    • Submits FOIA requests as needed
    • Internal tracking of proposal pipeline
    • Coordination with finance, compliance (COI), information services and human resources
    • Facilitates post-award activities, as needed
  • Sales and Marketing Support
  • Assists with conference exhibitor arrangements
  • Participates at conferences and interact with potential customers to represent company services
  • Assists with the identification and development of new product and/or service offerings
  • Develops sales and marketing collateral

Education

  • BA/BS in a related field
    • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted

7 years' experience in a related field

Compensation Range

$73k - $86k

Geographical location is a part of the compensation consideration.

Examples:

Kansas City: $75k

Denver: $78k

Seattle: $86k
