Position Summary

The Supervisor of Laboratory OCED is responsible for maintaining the integrity and the smooth daily operations of the OCED Laboratories and for the direct supervision of personnel. This position supervises Lab Assistants. Work situations are varied and require strong leadership skills, organization, prioritization, accuracy, discretion, good judgment, and independent decision-making. Major decisions are subject to the review and approval of the Manager, Director, Medical Director, and in conjunction with OCED leadership. External contacts include physicians, pathologists, and physician office staff. Internal contacts are primarily with the OCED units.

Requirements

  • Current Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), OR Medical Technologist (MT) or MLS
  • 2 years laboratory experience required
  • Previous experience and demonstrated skills in a supervisory or lead capacity
  • Experience in hospital laboratories preferred, phlebotomy, and other aspects of the laboratory
  • Current Washington State Driver's License
  • Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $86,154.00 - $123,968.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
