Job Summary

Central Washington University is recruiting a Community Clinic Director to join our Psychology team in Ellensburg, Washington. This roll is an important member of our team as they will oversee the Community Counseling and Psychologic Assessment Center for the University. The role is a campus-based, two-year project position, which means you get to see the lives you are impacting. We're offering a salary, depending on experience, from $80,717 - $90,000 annually plus the awesome CWU benefits.

The Role:

The licensed counselor Clinic Director will manage the delivery of clinic services and will help the Psychology department provide an increase in mental health support for Kittitas County youth, aged 12-17 years. They will provide direct counseling services to a limited number of youth clients including offering individual and group counseling. The Clinic Director will collaborate with faculty and the community in providing graduate students with clinic evidence-based counseling training. This work will involve collaborating with Ellensburg School District to serve youth clients in the Clinic. This position is a two-year externally funded position. Job Duties

Provides Counseling Services:
- Provide direct counseling services to a limited number of youth clients.
- Model individual or small group counseling for our graduate students.

Managing Clinic: Manage all counseling service functions including the following:
- Work with clinic secretary.
- Establish a clinic schedule each quarter.
- Lead graduate assistant assigned to clinic.
- Make recommendations for purchasing materials and supplies needed for the clinic operations.
- Respond to requests for client records coming from other agencies.
- Complete quarterly and end-of-year reports on counseling services.
- Develop strategies for serving youth clients based on feedback from district.
- Prepare parent survey to determine counseling outcomes.
- Prepare informational materials to be shared with parents of youth.
- Ensure that counseling treatment plans with relevant goals are maintained for each youth client.
- Ensure that feedback from each youth client is elicited to determine the success of the treatment.
- Consult on cases with other professionals as needed.

Training Graduate Students:
- Collaborate with Psychology department faculty on graduate student training experiences.
- Determine which referrals from MTSS teams will be assigned counseling support in the clinic.
- Assign youth clients to graduate students in collaboration with faculty.
- Ensure that quality counseling services are being provided.
- Consult with graduate practicum students and faculty supervisors as necessary to supervise difficult cases and/or respond to crises.
- Engage in on call responsibilities for response to student concerns and issues.

Ethical/Legal Compliance:
- Inform and work with the Department Chair on any ethical or legal issues that may impact the clinic or department.
- Ensure up-to-date documentation and compliance required for the Clinic policies/procedures, university requirements, as well as national regulations (HIPAA, FERPA) and state law.
- Maintain and manage technology systems associated with the clinical training program, including electronic health records and video-recording records, and ensures the confidentiality of all client records, recordings, and documents.

- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in counseling or a related mental health field.
  • Must hold licensure that would allow for independent provision of counseling services to youth, ages 12-17. This includes being a licensed counselor in the state of Washington.
  • Must be able to provide quality clinic supervision to graduate students.
  • Significant relevant professional counseling experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to honoring and promoting diversity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences.
  • OR an applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary: This position has a minimum annual salary of $80,717 and maximum annual salary of $121,075. The Hiring Department's expected hiring range is $80,717 - $90,000. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the hiring range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, TBD, Some Evening / Project Appointment with expected end date of June 30, 2026.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to work at a desk, move around the clinic facilities and create/maintain filing systems for clinic records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
