Job Description
Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is searching for a delightfully determined, crusadingly compassionate Supervisor of Nursing Services. As the clinical team continues to grow, WVCI needs an individual that can lead from the treatment room. Responsible for managing the nursing department, this individual will take part in schedule maintenance, hiring and staffing interviews, review clinical policies and procedures, staff training, and much more. 5 years of nursing is required, with at least 3 in Oncology. Job Scope:
The person in this position, Supervises nursing and clinical support staff that provides professional nursing care to patients and adheres to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Must recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participates in company wide quality initiatives. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilites:
  • Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.
  • Maintains effective nursing staff coverage for the practice within budgetary constraints.
  • Assists in determining staffing requirements.
  • Screens and interviews nursing applicants and orients and trains staff.
  • Participates in the interviewing and recruiting of nursing personnel.
  • Assists with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Assists in verifying encounter form charges to ensure proper/appropriate charges.
  • Assists with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.
  • Assists with staff training and in-services as required.
  • Ensures nurses maintain all required competencies on an annual basis.
  • Verifies all licensing and national certification criteria are met.
  • Provides support and direction as required in the area of clinical research in the practice to ensure staff compliance to the established research protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience.
  • One year supervisory experience preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred.

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

- 7 paid holidays, 2 paid float days - PTO accrual is based on hours worked (40 hrs = 5 hours accrual each pay period) - Insurance (dependent upon fte status, if applicable- becomes eligible 1 month after hire), includes medical, dental, and vision plans - Our 401K plan.
