Position Summary:

This position will have responsibility for providing Clinical Mental Health Services to children, families, and adults in an outpatient community mental health clinic. Responsibilities will include intakes, diagnosis, case management, and mental health treatment services to identified children, families, and adults. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide intake assessments, diagnosis, and ongoing culturally sensitive treatment using Evidenced Based Practices to children, families and adults.
  • Provide therapy groups for individuals.
  • Develop clinical treatment plans which focus on client strengths, culture, needs, and goals within the briefest time frame for successful achievement.
  • Participate in ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement to assure the services provided demonstrate best practice standards and meet all contractual requirements.
  • Actively participate in individual and group supervision, clinical staff meetings, and other multi-disciplinary meetings
  • Staff cases which require specialist consultations and psychiatric consultations as required
  • Coordinate client treatment with schools, physicians, and other community resources and referrals to community services whenever necessary
  • Practice confidentiality per HIPAA in all related program functions with staff and clients
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with other community mental health providers, primary care, and other referral sources.
  • Provide services and maintain records in a timely manner to meet contract requirements, level of care standards, and Catholic Charities agency guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements.  These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time.  Position also requires the ability to drive with adequate vision.

Non-Physical Requirements:

Education

  • Master’s degree in social work preferred or master’s degree in other Behavioral Sciences required.

Experience

  • Experience working with children, families, and adults in a professional outpatient setting preferred.
  • Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation or eligible

  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner within the community
  • Bilingual Preferred, but not required

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • LMFT, LMFTA, LMHCA, LICSWA, LMHC, LICSW, Agency Affiliated License
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State

Employment is conditional upon:

  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
  • Compliance with the attached Addendum regarding Disclosure of Outside Employment for purposes of evaluating potential conflicts

 

 

Disclosure of Outside Employment

Although Catholic Charities does not prohibit Outpatient Therapists from engaging in outside employment.  The agency does require that that the employee’s activity and conduct away from the job must not compete, conflict with, or compromise its interests or adversely affect job performance or the employee’s ability to fulfill all job responsibilities, including reasonable scheduling requirements. To assure that any outside employment or business does not create a conflict of interest, compromise the interest of Catholic Charities, or otherwise adversely affect job performance, the Outpatient Therapist must disclose any outside employment or businesses to Human Resources.  Outside employment includes, but is not limited to, any private practice or any therapy related services, regardless of whether the employee receives any benefit from such activities.

Human Resources will evaluate and discuss the situation with the employee and determine whether any particular measures may be available to avoid any potential conflicts of interest.
